In 1979, street gangs had been a feared norm in inner city life. Director Walter Hill decided the best way to deal with the issue was to make a film about one such gang called The Warriors who must get through treacherous turf from the Bronx all the way home at Coney Island with hundreds of gangs (and cops) hot on their heels.
