In 1950, hit filmmaker Billy Wilder took on Hollywood's dark side head-on when he created Sunset Blvd. The story about a hack screenwriter (William Holden) who becomes dangerously intertwined with a reclusive former silent movie star (Gloria Swanson) ripped open tensiltown's obsession with age, sex and power that became a huge success with critics and audiences alike.
