Welcome to Arthouse Legends Podcast - Where High Art and Geek Culture Collide! The goal of this podcast is to take a look at critically acclaimed and well-received films and consider if these films truly deserve their revered status in the cultural zeitguest. In 2010, Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander took his short film about hunters trapping savage elves and turned into a holiday horror-comedy titled Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale about a young boy who has good reason to believe the original Santa Claus is about the resurface and with a thirst for blood. The film quickly found a cult following and critical success, becoming a new holiday tradition among horror fans. But does the film deserve such adoration or should it be buried under miles of rock and ice for thousands of years? MovieDude Eric, Kent and Chris find out.
