In 1994, director Ted Demme and MTV comedian Denis Leary collaborated on a holiday comedy about a house burgler who takes a very unhappily married couple hostage on Christmas Eve. The critics lauded the sharp witty dialogue and the performances by Leary, Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis. But does the film deserve a present under the tree or candlewax burns to the scalp?
