In 2001, the Boston Globe's investigative reports team known as Spotlight broke one of the most disturbing and longest-running conspiracies of all time. In 2016, the film Spotlight won the Best Picture Academy Award despite only winning one other award that year. The film topped many critics lists while being slow to catch on with audiences.
