In 1960, director Stanley Kramer utilized his critical acclaim to make a riveting film based on the Broadway play Inherit the Wind. Pitting Hollywood titans Spencer Tracy and Frederic March against one another in a fictionalized retelling of the Scopes Monkey Trail, the film garnered many Academy Award nominations and made the careers of many who would go on in television.
