In 1986, director David Ainsbaugh released the underdog sports movie of the decade about a washed-up basketball coach who takes a small-town Indiana high school team to the top in the critically-acclaimed film Hoosiers. Starring film legends, Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper in what would be an Oscar-nominated turn, the film is still considered to be one of the best sports films of all time.
